2014 Eastern meets Western Easter Celebration

Every few years, “Western” (Catholic and Protestant) Easter and “Eastern” Orthodox Easter coincide, this year we’ll both celebrate on April 20th., 2014.

With mom’s departure back to Romania I will at least feel some continuous closeness through this Easter celebration knowing we are both celebrating at the same time even though we are thousand of miles apart.

‘The Easter is the most important celebration of the Romanian people and it is preceded by numerous preparations and rituals.

It’s a must for the people to have a clean house and have all the ritual foods ready. This is why the cleaning starts on Great Thursday. Men, who are usually working in the field or at the forest, will remain home starting with this day and will take out the thrash, fix the fence, cut wood, bring water, butcher the lambs.’ Source http://www.roconsulboston.com/Pages/InfoPages/Culture/EasterTraditions.html

Wow, I will have to get my husband to get right on it!!!

‘Women are the ones that paint and decorate the eggs, do the laundry and generally clean the house.

Because it’s a good thing to have a new piece of clothing on the Easter, girls and young wives start to sew shirts for them and also for their parents, brothers, husbands or children, with about two weeks in advance.’

Design and Real Estate Blog By Lacrima Cosnean

I ran across this article and had a smile on my face when I was thinking about our Winter here in Texas this year…we actually had a little snow and freeze ourselves and can feel the ‘Spring in the Air’ already …

The MESSAGE of this article is that “If you’re considering selling and your home  and it is not yet online, then every day you’re missing out on thousands (or even millions) of potential buyers viewing your home.”

Call me if you are considering selling and would like a FREE CMA (Comparative Market Analysis) for your HOME.

Cool site, great team, women in business

I ran across this cool team in Romania and was intrigued by their mission statement:
“We are a transnational company engaged socially, committed to helping our clients develop globally. We provide strategic communications advice, we engage in creative campaigns and we offer professional connections for clients around the world. ”

Corina does not know it yet, but I would like to feature her in my WiB directory on my Women In Business website

As you can maybe tell, I took this pic at Champions School of Real Estate, where I am taking my Real Estate Broker classes currently…I was reading it today and was inspired immediately…Positive thinking and self assurance is probably still the most powerful and ‘free’ tool we have towards success. By doing some research about Ruben Gonzalez, whose quote I was reading today, I also ran across his amazing story and motivational speeches http://www.olympicmotivation.com

Liberty Branch- The Woodlands

Liberty Branch Grand Opening

“The opening of model homes in Liberty Branch has been eagerly anticipated,” said Tim Welbes, Co-President of The Woodlands Development Company.
“Traditional neighborhood design, with its All-American streetscapes and walkable green spaces, has been extremely popular in The Woodlands’ lakeside community of East Shore, and we are anxious to create this experience at Liberty Branch in the Village of Creekside Park.” (source:The Woodlands Development Company)

Today we went to the Grand Opening of Liberty Branch, REALTOR open house. I am so so excited about this new development, offering gorgeous homes and wonderful amenities to our clients. There is a lot of potential to get in early in this community and choose your custom home site as well as upgrades and finishes. The builders represented in the community have done a wonderful job diversifying and making each home unique.

David Weekley Homes prices range from approx. $500’s-900’s., as well as Coventry Homes.

The homes will have features that are typical of traditional neighborhood design including oversized porches, traditional elevations, wood flooring, three-car garages, butler’s pantries, mother-in-law suites, covered rear porches, patios and outdoor kitchens.

J. Kyle Homes plans to open a model home soon. Forty-three single-family homes are planned by J. Kyle, priced from the high $500s. There will be a variety of home styles including Craftsman, Classic American and English Tudor with many optional features such as outdoor kitchens, wet bars, Thermador kitchens, sunken whirlpool tubs and three-car garages.

Palmetto Homes offer (attached) patio homes. Homes are priced from the $300s.

Note that prices are changing very fast and inventory as well.

January 2014  Market Update for The Woodlands, detailing Listing Activities from last year to this year, from last month to this month, as well as Days On the Market and market trends

My last two days…

The last few days have been so busy…

Juggling clients, taking Real Estate broker classes, visiting New Developments in the Woodlands…spending time with my kids playing and keeping warm, and spending time with my husband in The Woodlands town center as well as spending time in Houston at our dear friends to watch the Super Bowl game…
there were just not enough hours in the day and night to do all the things I had planned, like finishing my blog posts…

Living now so close to the new Exxon Mobile Campus is also adding to the ‘being busy effect’…
There is just so much more traffic on I-45 now, and everyone is wondering how much longer it is going to take until the curtains unveil the new Exxon Mobile campus as well as Springwood Village…

Swamplot.com and the Houston Chronicle are two of the two sources that keep me posted on the virtual side i.e. what is new and happening, but most of it I rather see first hand. Living just ten minutes away from the new Exxon Mobile Campus I literally see the construction progressing each day …also working with my Real Estate clients I see the importance of the proximity to work, new schools and new lifestyle change.

It is going to be an interesting couple of years, and I am sure it will not be the last time this year you’ll read in my blog post title that “the last couple of days have been so busy…”
